The last of the autumn leaves are falling and the winter air is blowing in. Pumpkin flavors are making way for peppermint everything. Its the way it is this time of year – and we love it. So together with our friends and fellow Snohomish based wedding vendors, Ginger Herr of chalk.ink.style and Debi Bock of Vintage Lilli, we collaborated on an inspirational photoshoot that we hope will encourage your heart and inspire ideas as you get together with family and friends this holiday season.
It wasn’t just a Seattle drizzle but a steady downpour in early November on the day planned for our gathering. We were deceived by a lovely summer and assumed it would continue into November…but it did not. And so, we powered on under the shelter of an apple orchard to set the table and continue prepping for our guests to arrive.
Ginger beautifully hand scripted invitations and name tags in an elegant copper ink for our guests – a perfect detail for our fall themed gathering.
Debi’s magical way with flowers, plants and forest-forged treasures tied everything together. Even though it was all a little rained on, it somehow seemed perfect in its own true Pacific Northwest beauty.
Susan and I ducked in and out from under various coverings to take photographs of the event details, carefully covering our cameras in between shots as we have done at many rainy Washington weddings, but it is always worth it.
Regardless of the weather, our inspirations and efforts to create a beautiful setting with family and friends to celebrate God’s good and perfect gifts were not dampened just redirected and rearranged. So together we gathered and feasted in celebration. We thanked Him for the splendor of the world around us and the gift He gives to create and make beautiful things for our beloved family and friends.
With this we hope you feel inspired for this upcoming Christmas season. Perhaps put on a dinner for friends – just because. Or try a new decoration at the Christmas table. Whatever it is, we hope you feel inspired to be creative, to gather and to celebrate all the things we have to be thankful for with those closest to you.
Let Us Sing Songs of Praise
95 Oh come, let us sing to the Lord;
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
2 Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
3 For the Lord is a great God,
and a great King above all gods.
4 In his hand are the depths of the earth;
the heights of the mountains are his also.
5 The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land.
6 Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!
7 For he is our God,
and we are the people of his pasture,
and the sheep of his hand.
